West Lake is one of China's top ten scenic areas and the first national 5A-level tourist attractions, listed in 2011 as a World Heritage Site. The park features a core layout of "one mountain, two towers, three islands, three causeways, and five lakes," with its ten scenic spots interwoven. Natural landscapes and cultural landmarks complement each other, creating a harmonious and breathtaking view. The San Tan Yard, a famous landmark, appears on the back of the 1 yuan note, highlighting its unique status among China's scenic spots. Visitors can walk, take a boat, bike, or drive to explore this iconic destination.
