About
The Palace Museum was established on October 10, 1925. It is a large comprehensive ancient art museum founded on the basis of the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties and the ancient relics collected in the imperial court. It is a World Cultural Heritage Site, a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit, and a Demonstration Base for the Promotion of Patriotism.
Transport
When taking the bus, you can choose bus route 1, 2, 52, or 120. After getting off at Tiananmen East Station, walk about 900 meters to reach the Meridian Gate. Taking the subway Line 1, you can also get off at "Tiananmen East" Station and walk about 900 meters to enter the Forbidden City (the southern gate of the Palace Museum). Since the Forbidden City has no parking lot and the surrounding parking is far away, it is not recommended to drive there.
